Call it confirmation

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected;
but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which
Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
Phil 3:12

Despite all that I have seen, experienced, learned and hard, I am still amazed at how God works at times.

When I started this blog at the end of 2017, (knowing full well that it will likely never be seen by eyes other than my own,) the above verse is what God laid on my heart.  It seemed to fit so well for where I felt I was, (still am-) and what I am aspiring to in this season.

I know I have a long way to go.  A LONG way. I am thankful for the growth that God has worked in my life; thankful beyond word for His patience with me. But I am not willing to accept where I am as “good enough.”

So when the head of a ministry that I have come to love and respect as a Brother in Christ sent out their closing letter for 2017 and looking ahead to 2018, I was pleasantly surprised when it clearly stated that the verse he’d been given for the year was Phil 3:12.

You mean God, that for once I am listening attentively enough to actually be on the same page as those that have established ministries and are faithful servants of yours?
Lord, let it not be the last time, but rather, the beginning of a new normal.
